Workshop description
The 10th IBUS Hybrid Module 1 Workshop will take place on November 4th, 2025 in Chicago, IL, USA.
This IBUS workshop has been developed by a group of international experts in IBD and intestinal ultrasound (IUS). Participants will learn about the basics of IUS and its role in diagnosis, follow-up of treatment, and complications in IBD.
The workshop consists of 2 parts:
- Theoretical and didactic training: participants will engage in an interactive, self-directed eLearning course via IBUS
- Practical training: the hands-on experience component will be facilitated through an introductory face-to-face workshop involving sessions with patients
This workshop, hosted by IBUS and iUSCAN, will be presented for attendees of the NASPGHAN Annual Meeting, but is open to all Pediatric applicants, not just those attending the annual meeting. Adult providers may apply, but Pediatric provider applications will be prioritized. This workshop will take place on November 4th, 2025, the day before the official start of the Meeting on November 5th, 2025.
The workshop steering committee consists of Drs Michael Dolinger from NYU (USA), and Amelia Kellar from University of Chicago (USA).
Application Process
The application process is divided into the following 3 steps:
1. Submission of application: To be taken into consideration for the application process, fully completed applications must be submitted by July 31st, 2025. Applicants must submit together with their CV a Letter of Recommendation from their Head of Department.
During the application process applicants will be prompted to confirm their commitment to completing the eLearning component of Module 1 before attending the face-to-face workshop on November 4th (please note this is a mandatory prerequisite to attend the workshop - more information on the content can be found here.)
2. Review and selection: The Workshop Steering Committee will review all applications and select the potential workshop participants by mid-August, 2025.
3. Workshop Registration: The selected applicants will receive an invoice of 2000 USD which includes access to the IBUS eLearning course and attendance to the in-person workshop. This invoice will be issued by iUSCAN.
Selected applicants must be active IBUS and iUSCAN members.

Please note that travel and accommodation arrangements are not included in the participation fee.
This IBUS Hybrid Module 1 Workshop is intended for Pediatric applicants. Adult providers may apply, but Pediatric provider applications will be prioritized. Applications with equal qualifications will be evaluated on a first come first served basis. Only fully completed applications will be taken into consideration.
It is a mandatory requirement to have access to an ultrasound machine in order to apply for this workshop.
