Workshop description
The 23rd IBUS Module 1 Workshop will take place from Friday, June 5th to Saturday, June 6th, 2026 in Bucharest, Romania.
This IBUS workshop, which is the 1st module of the IBUS Curriculum, has been developed by a group of international experts in IBD and intestinal ultrasound (IUS), involving presentations, videos, and hands-on sessions. You will learn about the basics of intestinal ultrasound (IUS) and the role of IUS in diagnosis, follow-up of treatment, and complications in IBD.
The workshop will be organized under the medical lead of Dr. Anda Les from Fundeni Clinical Institute, Center for Digestive Diseases and Liver Transplantation, Bucharest, Romania.
Application process
The application process is divided into the following 3 steps:
1. Submission of application: To be taken into consideration for the application process, fully completed applications must be submitted by February 26th, 2026. Applicants must submit, together with their CV, a Letter of Recommendation from their Head of Department.
2. Review and selection: The Workshop Steering Committee will review all applications and select the potential workshop participants by start of March 2026.
3. Workshop registration: the selected applicants will receive an invoice for the participation fee (499,00 EUR + 19% VAT). Registration to the workshop will be confirmed upon receipt of payment by the IBUS Group.

The workshop participation fee is 499,00 EUR + 19% VAT and includes participation to the lectures and hands-on practical sessions on June 5th - 6th, 2026.
Please note that travel and accommodation arrangements must be covered by the participant directly.
Applications with equal qualifications will be evaluated on a first come first served basis. Only fully completed applications will be taken into consideration.
It is a mandatory requirement to have access to an ultrasound machine in order to apply for this workshop.
During this workshop, participants will attend expert-led lectures on bowel ultrasound and take part in small group hands-on training with real patients. Completion of the IBUS eLearning course is not required to apply for or attend this workshop.
