IBUS Virtual Module 2
Welcome to the new IBUS Virtual Module 2.
This platform has been developed by an international group of experts in bowel ultrasonography and inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD). Its goal is to support a continuous educational pathway for gastroenterologists involved in the care of IBD patients, while expanding the access to high-quality eLearning worldwide and support the development of proficiency in IUS image interpretation.
The IBUS Virtual Module 2 is designed to empower learners to confidently understand and interpret intestinal ultrasound of both normal and pathological bowel. Through interactive content, including cine loops, participants will learn to identify bowel segments, key anatomical landmarks, and surrounding structures, as well as to assess features of inflammation in Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis.
By the end of the Virtual Module 2, learners are expected to:
-
Recognize segmental bowel anatomy and key landmarks
-
Interpret ultrasound features of bowel inflammation in IBD
-
Develop an initial understanding of differential diagnoses beyond IBD
Please note that the platform is currently under development and undergoing scientific evaluation. At this stage, completion of the IBUS Virtual Module 2 does not replace the hands-on training component of Module 2.
