Open Elections: President-elect and Treasurer

Notice is hereby given that the following positions on the Governing Board of IBUS are open for election:

  • President-elect
  • Treasurer

The term of office is two (2) years for President-elect, followed by two (2) years as IBUS President and a final two (2) years as Past President.
The term of office is three (3) years for Treasurer with one reelection possible.

President-elect and Treasurer Responsibilites: 

The President-elect represents IBUS members and, as a member of the Governing Board, participates in Governing Board’s virtual meetings every 3-4 weeks, usually for 2 hours. In addition, the Governing Board holds 2-3 in-person meetings per year. The President-elect supports the President in the vision to advocate for IBUS and IBUS members. Furthermore, they contribute to mapping out the overarching strategic direction of IBUS.  The term for the President-elect is 2 years, followed by 2 years as the IBUS President and a final 2 years as Past President. Throughout this period, they participate on the IBUS Governing Board.

 

The Treasurer is a 3-year term, of which the main responsibilities include:

  • Presence at GB meetings and OB meetings to contribute to current and strategic development
  • Creation of a budget for the upcoming year together with persons from the IBUS office and OB in authority of finances
  • Organizing a monthly digital finance meeting together with the IBUS office to discuss relevant financial topics and to get an overview on the current balance of the different accounts. Major expenses and revenues from the previous month and the upcoming month will be discussed
  • Presenting and discussing the current financial situation during the monthly GB meeting
  • Presenting the financial accounting from the previous year to GB
  • Discussing the budget plan for the upcoming year with GB to achieve approval
  • Presenting the financial accounting from the previous year and the budget plan for the upcoming year to OB
  • Presenting the financial accounting from the previous year to all IBUS members during the general assembly in Oct/Nov each year
  • Approval and signing of transactions
    • All transactions of 20.000 € and above
    • All non-budgeted expenses above 2000 €
    • All expenses that exceed 25 % or 2000 € (whatever comes first) above budget
  • Organizing regular (at least quarterly) financial updates between Nautilus and IBUS GB.  Serve as main GB contact person for one of the IBUS committees

President-elect and Treasurer Application Process: 

Candidates applying for the President-elect and/or Treasurer seats are kindly asked to submit their application below, including a short CV (≤2 pages), a letter of motivation (≤1 page) and a short video (≤ 3-minute) explaining the candidate’s vision for this position. Candidates should be aware that the completion of a COI (Conflict of Interest) form is required and will be forwarded as part of the second stage.

 

All applications, including the presentation video, letter of motivation and CV will be accessible to IBUS Members via the IBUS portal starting from January 22nd, 2026.

 

The deadline for submitting applications for all positions is Thursday, January 15th, 2026, at 12.00 pm CET 

President-elect & Treasurer Election Process:

We would like to offer the opportunity to all IBUS Members in good standing to vote for these positions regardless of their location. For this reason, their election will take place online and will be open in the week leading up to the Members Meeting.

 

Voting Opens: Wednesday, February 11th, 2026 – 9:00 am CET
Voting Closes: Wednesday, February 17th, 2026 – 9:00 pm CET

 

Voting will be conducted privately.  All votes cast are anonymous with each member permitted to cast only one vote.

 

IBUS office will tally the results and inform Governing Board and all candidates of the results on the morning of February 18th, 2026. This will then be shared with all members during the Members´ Meeting in Stockholm, Sweden later that day.
