Open Elections: Committee Seats
Notice is hereby given that the following IBUS Committee seats are open for election:
- 1 (+1*) seats on the Science Committee
- 2 seats on the Collaboration Committee
- 2 (+1*) seats on the Communication Committee
- 1 seat on the Pediatric Committee
For the committee candidate, the serving term is 3 years
For the committee chair, the serving term is 4 years
* (+1) depending on Committee chair
Committee Responsibilities:
The Educational Committee members are responsible for the academic organization of the Module 1 and 3 workshops, Module 2 hands-on training, Webinars, and exploring and developing other IUS educational activities.
The Science Committee members are responsible for the ECCO-IBUS research grant review process, supporting IUS research projects, and developing IBUS scientific projects.
The Collaboration Committee members are IBD Specialists with long-lasting experience in IUS who will focus on the regional or continental strategic expansion of IUS. Additionally, they are responsible for establishing and maintaining robust interaction and collaboration with national and international gastroenterology and ultrasound societies. The committee also promotes corporate membership and organizes the Industrial Board meetings and get-togethers.
The Communication Committee members are responsible for distributing information about IBUS projects and IUS via various social media platforms and drafting the IBUS Newsletter.
The Pediatric Committee members are responsible for exploring and developing scientific, educational, and strategic pediatric-specific IUS projects.
Committee Seat Application Process:
Candidates applying for committee positions are kindly asked to submit their application here. Candidates should include their CV (≤ 2 pages) and a letter of motivation (≤1 page). Candidates should be aware that the completion of a COI (Conflict of Interest) form is required and will be forwarded as part of the second stage. Current committee members who are stepping down can apply for positions on other committees.
Committtee Seat Election Process:
The current members of each committee will review all applications and select the new member. The successful candidates will be announced during the IBUS Members’ Meeting on February 18th, 2026. Candidates not present can participate online.
The relevant committee will host their first meeting with the newly elected member(s). If necessary, the Chair of each committee is appointed within the relevant committee. The committee member/s stepping down will be invited to attend this meeting; however, they will be restricted from voting for the new chair.
