Event Description
Endoanal ultrasound (EAUS) and perineal ultrasound (PUS) are reliable imaging techniques, that can be applied for the evaluation of perineal Crohn's disease (CD) and for the assessment of rectal involvement in ulcerative colitis (UC). Applying these techniques in your daily practice can guide early interventions and improve patients' outcomes, while decreasing the waiting time and costs of pelvic MRI, as well as reducing the need of endoscopies.
Through lectures and interactive sessions with discussion of selected videos, this virtual course will introduce you with the techniques of endoanal and perianal US, with specific emphasis on the assessment of anal muscle integrity, diagnosis of perianal sepsis, and on the assessment of rectal involvement of UC.
The workshop will be organized under the medical lead of Prof Dan Carter and of Dr Federica Furfaro, with the participation of specialists from Europe and Australia.
