Event Description
Intestinal ultrasound has become an indispensable tool in the modern management of inflammatory bowel disease. Beyond diagnosis, it provides real-time information that enables clinicians to assess treatment response, monitor disease activity, identify subclinical inflammation, predict relapse, and guide therapeutic decisions across the entire disease course.
This advanced workshop is designed for clinicians who wish to refine their expertise in applying IUS to everyday clinical practice. Through expert-led lectures, interactive case discussions, and real-life cine loop interpretation, participants will explore the role of IUS in monitoring IBD after induction therapy, assessing transmural remission, evaluating ulcerative colitis, including acute severe UC, and managing complex scenarios such as perianal Crohn's disease and postoperative recurrence.
The interactive format will encourage discussion of challenging cases and practical approaches, providing valuable insights that can be directly translated into daily patient care.
Whether you are an experienced IUS practitioner or looking to advance your skills further, this workshop offers an excellent opportunity to deepen your understanding of how ultrasound can optimize personalized IBD management.
This workshop will be organised under the medical lead of Dr. Ahmad Albshesh, Dr. Anda Les and Dr. Federica Furfaro, with the participation of specialists from different regions.
Applications will open shortly - all IBUS members will be informed. Please note to be eligible for this advanced workshop you must be an IBUS member in good standing and have completed the full IBUS curriculum.
