So far, 2021 has been a busy year for all of us, we wish you well as head into fall of 2021 and

hopefully many of the pandemic restrictions. The Scientific Subcommittee’s focus this year

has been to begin to create the infrastructure and plans for the large, multicenter, Helmsley

Trust funded project, involving 16 expert ultrasound sites across the world. This is an exciting

process and our hope is that a foundational infrastructure to facilitate global collaboration

and high quality research inquiry will be created in the process, in addition to the generation

of a valid and responsive activity index. We are also working closely with patients and

patient researchers, to better understand their perceptions and experience with monitoring

in IBD, so if you have patients whom you think may be interested in participating in a focus

group by Zoom, do contact us.
